Welcome to the SMS Lounge
During the past several years, the Sharon Public Schools has recognized the changing needs of the community it serves. The SMS Lounge program was designed to extend the day of the Public School System, and help meet the needs of parents by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for their children. The Lounge operates from school dismissal up until 6:00 PM. In recognition of the developmental and emotional difference between elementary and middle school age children, The SMS Lounge was created to give Middle School students the freedom of choice in their after school activities, while still keeping an observant eye on them. Our program is non-academic in nature and includes creative and recreational programming, while also allowing valuable down time to hang out and socialize with peers while remaining at the Middle School until picked up. Absences should be reported before 1:00 pm or by 10:00 am for an early release day.

- November 5, 2024 school dismissal until 6:00
- November 14, 2024 no After Care/Lounge (staff professional development)
- November 27, 2024 school dismissal until 4:00 (day before Thanksgiving)
- December 11, 2024 school dismissal until 6:00
- January 7, 2025 school dismissal until 6:00
- January 29, 2025 no after Care/Lounge (Lunar New Year)
- March 20, 2025 no After Care/Lounge (staff professional development)
- March 25, 2025 school dismissal until 6:00
- March 31, 2025 no After Care/Lounge (Eid)
- May 7, 2025 school dismissal until 6:00
